Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was questioned in the House over the administration’s decision to send National Guard troops into L.A., to quell protests against ICE raids. The hearing became heated when Hegseth was questioned by Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., over the administration’s authority to deploy those troops, with Hegseth saying that Governor Gavin Newsom had “failed to protect” Californians.
