The Yankees’ rotation suffered another blow, as Clarke Schmidt likely needs Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, manager Aaron Boone said.
“He’s kind of getting second opinions now, but not great news on that front obviously,” Boone said Saturday.
Schmidt, 29, exited Thursday’s start in Toronto after three innings, then landed on the injured list Friday.
He has a 3.32 ERA this season.
