Game, set, match. Zendaya wins!

The sport is fashion, and Zendaya was the clear favorite for the title of “best-dressed at a photocall for a movie about tennis” when she stepped in front of the cameras in Rome on April 8. With excellent coaching by image architect Law Roach and an assist from creative director Jonathan Anderson at Loewe, the 27-year-old easily clinched the win. Sorry, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, there was really no competition!

The element that took Zendaya over the top? Her tennis shoes—and I’m not talking about sneakers. I’m talking about these white, pointed-toe pumps with a sharp stiletto spike threaded with a literal tennis ball. They’re kind of like my grandpa’s walker, which he affixed with tennis balls so that it didn’t scratch the floors as he shuffled along, but, you know, chic.

However, the shoes would be but a gimmick were it not for the actor’s stunning take on the tennis dress. Featuring a plunging neckline and drop-waist pleated skirt, Zendaya’s Loewe dress—sparsely accessorized with two silver bracelets—is a show-stopper in its own right. And did you catch that it’s sparkly? What a serve! Aced it! Love.

Zendaya completed the look by styling her freshly-dyed blonde hair in a ’60s-esque updo, with plenty of volume in the front and flirty, flippy ends which hit just above her shoulders.

In Challengers, Zendaya plays a tennis prodigy who pivots to coaching after a career-ending injury. The trailer implies a love triangle between the Emmy-winner and her co-stars, O’Connor and Faist, and lots of sweaty sexual tension. The film doesn’t hit theaters until April 26, which means we hopefully have another two weeks of press events, and more importantly, the tennis-themed outfits that come with them. Bring it on.
